This is story about what Doctor Who might be like if she were a woman.

I’m writing it as I go along, and adding background music and soundeffects (e.g.: jet plane interior: central heating system)

As I write this now, I’m on episode eight. There’s been steals from Chris Morris, Ali Farka Toure, Bert Jansch, Richard Feynman, BBC World Service, Fox News, some choir music that’s always in Platoon, I forget what it’s called, zombie films, Burkina Faso and the Sankaran revolution, etc.

In fact, I now think that Doctor Who has always been a woman, but that the BBC had her played by a man for some sort of weird thespian rule like back in the days of the Great Bard where women couldn’t appear on stage. I don’t know what’s going on in their minds.

I had been worried that I would feel like a total idiot once the new Doctor Who started and more utterly brilliant SF episodes flew off the screen at me, like back for the first two series of the Digital Doctor, and reminded me that I’m an amateur. However, after watching (most of) “Victory of the Daleks” I now feel like someone’s got to try and vindicate the concept of the Doctor by trying to write something worthwhile; because Moffat and Gatiss are taking an extended holiday over the shark. Not that they aren’t brilliant; not that I am not in awe of their writing powers. Back in the day. It’s just that clearly they have taken that trip over the shark, and there’s nothing to be done until they get back into comms range, hailing frequencies, whatever.
